This week’s memory verse is:
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
“Do Not Worry About Anything.”
And yet, I worry about A LOT. I worry about finances and credit scores. I stay up at night kicking myself for some dumb thing I said in 5th grade. This verse tells us to bring our struggles to God and to thank Him for all that He has done. It is there that we will find peace and comfort in Him, even if we don’t know what’s to come.
“Thank Him For All He Has Done.”
I’m not sure what your quiet times look like, but mine usually consists of a list of things I am freaking out about, a list of things I know I should say, and a list of things I would really like to have. I hate to admit it, but it takes me too long to realize my prayer time shouldn’t be a list of “honey do’s” for God, but should be a time for reflection and giving thanks. I don’t know about you, but if I had a friend that just constantly asked me to do things for them, I’d be less likely to be their friend. Thankfully, God isn’t like that- we just need to continue to thank Him for what Has done in our lives and thank Him for what He will do. He knows what we need before we even ask, so take some time to give thanks and praise Him before you go to Him with your concerns.
“Then You Will Experience God’s Peace.”
After giving thanks and then going to Him with our prayers and petitions, we can finally have peace. We might not have peace because of a resolution, but we can settle in knowing that God’s got it and there is no greater peace we can have. His peace and comfort are more than we could ever understand. There are times when we won’t see a resolution right away and there will be times we won’t ever get an answer. Either way, we can run into God’s arms and know that there, we are safe.
How can I pray for you guys this week? Do you struggle with having peace? Comment below with some prayer requests or some encouragement for others going through tough times right now…
I’m currently on strong pain meds, so please forgive me if this post is all over the place, thankfully I am recovering quickly from my wisdom teeth removal. Love you all- give your hubs a smooch!
