This week’s verse is one of my favorites and has been my verse for 2o17! Let’s battle our fears together this week!
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
I Can Do Everything.
For most of my life, I’ve filtered all my decisions with a hint of fear. I went to school to do things in my comfort zone because I was afraid to branch out. All of my jobs revolved around music or children because, again, I was afraid of new experiences. I was content in hiding behind the funny, lovable babysitter persona placed on me by others.
I was afraid that I wasn’t capable of reaching my goals. Afraid that I couldn’t learn something new or that I would mess up and not be good at it. But this verse here says I CAN DO ALL THINGS.
You can. I can. We are capable of doing all things through Christ who gives us strength.
Not just some things. God doesn’t give us interests and talents to let them go to waste. He gives us these desires so that we can live a fulfilling life and in return, reach others and show them God’s love. When we are fearful, we accept the lie that God isn’t good- that He doesn’t want the best for us. FALSE, GIRL!
Through Christ Who Gives Me Strength.
Fear only inhibits our potential and the longer we accept fear as truth, the longer it takes to find freedom. Fear isn’t who you are. You are a child of God and you can do all things through Him.
You know what? Starting this blog was a HUGE step of faith. I had to push my fear of rejection to the side, take a deep breath and share my story. I was SO afraid that I would receive judgment for my jaded past. But God has given me the strength to push past these fears and here I am, only 3 months in and loving it. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared at times but I have found SO much freedom in sharing my story! Our marriage has improved, too, simply by having conversations about my blog topics.
So today, I want to encourage you to stop being fearful. Girl, I get it. It isn’t that easy, because if you could just stop being afraid, you would do it, right? Well, maybe you’ve gotten too comfortable with where are you and God is nudging your heart to something new. Trust Him and do it. Don’t be afraid, He’s got you.
Is fear holding you back? What can you give to God this week?
This week, I am giving to God:
1) my fears about my future
2) my worries about our move
3) my ‘rut’ I seem to be in. I feel like I’ve lost some passion for life and I want to get it back!
Take a moment today to ask God to give you courage to start pursuing those goals you have been too afraid to uncover! I will be doing it too!
Give your hubs a smooch! Have a great week!
