Memory Verse Monday | (2 Cor. 1:3-4) Finding Comfort

Subscribe Via Email

Happy Monday, Ladies! Today’s a crazy day as I’m getting ready to head to New York for a few days with friends!

Well, since today is #MVM, let’s do a little dance and get started!

This week’s verse is :

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”

We Receive Comfort.

You know how sometimes you come across the right verse at the right time? This. Verse. Has. Me. Shook (ha, I think cool people say that. I’m trying).

So lately, life has been weird. I haven’t felt myself, I miss my friends and family and I often struggle to get simple tasks done because I’m just… tired? Sad? Lonely? Probably a mix of all of the above. As much as it stinks to sit and feel “off,” this verse has been a constant reminder that I will find comfort in Christ. Later down the road, I’ll be able to use my hurt and pain to help others. But right now, I need to just sit God’s presence and find rest.

We Give Comfort.

Comfort comes in many forms for us. Maybe it’s our fave meal or a cozy blanket and a movie. When we are in seasons in life that require us to comfort and be there for others, know that even the littlest gesture can mean the world. Knowing that others have been in our shoes is such a wonderful reminder that we are not alone.

Find ways to reach out to your friends that may be grieving or dealing with a difficult situation this week. Even a simple text can mean the world to someone.

This week, I’m giving to God:

All of me. I just need to sit with Him this week.

Give your Hubs a smooch! I’ve gotta finish packing!
